He was born in Borgo Valsugana, Italy, in the province of Trento (28 August 1911), and died there (11 June 1962). At the age of thirteen, he was an apprentice in the studio of Luigi Taddei, specialized in the production of iron and copper. In 1937, he settled in Milan where he opened a workshop for the production of copper objects, but after a few years returned to his village. His company grew and at one time he had a hundred or so workers and apprentices. He made sculptures for public places. He has worked with Hollywood movies such as Ben Hur, The Ten Commandments, and The Fall of the Roman Empire, which were filmed in Italy.
