Franco Albini obtained his degree in architecture at the Polytechnic of Milan in 1929 and began his professional career working for Gio Ponti. He began exhibiting his work at the Milan Triennale and starts his account in 1930.
Through his creations, the modern design blends with traditional Italian craftsmanship in new forms of modernism. It uses raw materials and cheap and draws on the knowledge of Italian craftsmanship. This induces an elegant design based on a minimalist aesthetic.
One of his first successes from the perspective of our time is in 1939, is a radio made of glass so as to make visible the components intérieur.En fact, considered too avant-garde for the time, the radio was never manufactured.
In 1950 he designed his famous rattan armchairs "Margherita" and "Gala". In 1952, he created the chair "Fiorenza" for Artflex society; in 1955, the chair "Luisa"; in 1956, the "Rocking Chair" for Poggi.

Albini was also an interior designer, eg for Zanini fur boutique in Milan or as architect museographer for the San Lorenzo Treasury Museum in Genoa.
