Roger Vivier (1907-1998) was a French stylist specialized in shoes. Orphan since he was nine years old, Vivier studied sculpture in the Fine Arts School in Paris. His work shows an attention to shape and texture characteristics of a sculptor. His most well-known creation is the stiletto heel which he co-created with Charles Jourdan.
